People's method of watching and consuming shows has changed dramatically from the past. In the past BBC and Channel 4 made these dramas because they were the only available channels in this country. People are moving quickly away from analogue viewing.

Yes, I think that's a legitimate concern here. The UK govt has already said it has "no plans" to introduce a levy, though ministers have been open to discussions about the idea.

Interesting interview. I was thinking that Adolescence feels like something that could have been made by Channel 4, a few years ago. I don't think C4 would have the budget for one shot episodes, but the storyline is very them.
