Would be neat if your existing *.bsky.social handle could do something like a 3xx redirect to any custom domain configured. Avoids breaking existing links while solving issue of someone else grabbing old handle.

And a subdomain record if you want more than one person to share the domain.

(That's a bit scary as the instructions didn't cover it properly, but it's on the to-do list to tidy up).

I have https://thenewells.us and my family can have things like https://sean.thenewells.us / https://nicki.thenewells.us etc.

So if I had changed my handle to be sean @ https://thenewells.us that wouldn't allow nicki @ https://thenewells.us to exist by default? It has to be more like my first example (like where my blog is hosted)?

What you've done is what I meant - as I have, using the subdomain as the firstname/nickname.
