Don’t remember that in the 50’s. Formal tables, a teacher at the head and a couple of the bigger kids as table monitors who brought the food on proper plates. No choice meat and two veg with a milk or custard pudding. you had to clean your plate. Tip: sit next to a big lad if you we’re parky like me
