I just don't like sun on my forearms. *shrug* I'm not hiding anything. Although now that I think about it, by wearing long sleeves on warm days, I'm doing my small part keeping it socially acceptable to do so, so when others do it for "a reason" I'm helping them keep their privacy. It's a win win.
Yep. The skin on my arms is very sun-damaged. My Dermatologist told me that if it gets any worse they won't even be able to stitch it if I get a cut.
As it is I bruise very easily and a simple brush against something can cause a cut.
So, I wear long sleeves.
Same here. My arms bruise and shred with abandon. It is a rather awful state of affairs. The dermatologist has no cure, just precautions to keep it from getting worse.
It's pitiful that I have to keep an eye out whenever I use my arms to make sure there are no sharp edges protruding from things.
I cut my arm badly just on the corner of the kitchen cabinet door.
I got a massage a few weeks ago and my arms had bruised spots from the masseuse kneading my muscles.
To protect from insects bites long sleeves and long pants is a must. But if you are wearing a fur coat in the middle of the summer, then it must be a carnival somewhere.
In my neck of the woods, you wear long sleeves, lest you risk a burn and skin cancer. My dad has a rancher's tan. To quote Tim Walz: "mind your own damn business!"
I prefer not to expose most of my translucent hide to the melanoma manufacturing star and I also bruise when caressed by a light breeze. Long sleeves are my preference when I have the option. I'll usually stink-eye impertinent comments about it, too: Mind your own business, Total Stranger.
I have to wear long sleeves today because I'm going to be working in and around nettles, hemlock and other things I don't want on my skin. I'm sure I'll get some funny looks on my way to and from the park
OSHA (still?) mandates long sleeve shirts on construction sites to prevent sun burns and other minor injuries. Don't know the actual rule, just worked under it. It makes sense, I buy them for my crew in bulk now even if we're not under OSHA

Yes, I am. But the sun gives me a rash. And then it gives me hives. No, that's not "just a sunburn". 🙄
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
