Are you able to ask them when you first take their order if they have any food allergies? Like "any food allergies we need to avoid?"

No it’s just policy to make sure we are giving out the right product. All allergens are on the labels/tickets and available on the app. We also have a tablet in store if people want to check any product.

To clarify we do a pork sausage roll and a vegan sausage roll so we check to make sure we give them the right product.

Oh for sure. A bunch of restaurants are doing that here too. Near me there's a burger place where their online system requires you to click an "acknowledge" checkbox for each item regarding allergens.

It’s to keep both the company and the customer safe, getting the wrong product in worst case scenarios can lead to death which is super scary honestly

Yep. I don't disagree with the practice at all, I'm just saying this is being adopted here, too. If people are giving you shit about it that's their problem.
