I do label my stuff, but I also notice that unfortunately it's also frequent for the site moderation to slap the explicit adult tag on things that fall under the non-explicit/artistic nudity category. Does anyone know if it's automated? Cause even stuff I label adult gets tagged my moderation too.

Then I don't understand why they'd label it with a label it already has. Don't get me wrong, not a big deal since it's still labeled correctly, but it sucks when even images with no nudity get automatically flagged as adult too by mods, but then I come across straight-up porn with zero labels.

Not arguing with the fact that people need to label their stuff tho. 100% agree they should be. I just also notice SFW stuff getting flagged too while NSFW content remains untouched.

Yea my queer stuff gets flagged even the "cartoon sexual" tag which will makes it so NO ONE See's it bc default for additional tags is to completely hide it on ppls feed. So ppl rlly need to mod their settings + we need b careful for alt text keywords. Like even alternative words/wear can b flagged

It's definitely automated! I've had labels slapped on immediately after upload like this, while it doesn't happen to other posts. Appeals to other moderation-added labels has indicated to me there's a vetting process on what gets labeled, but it's largely not humans doing it, from what I've seen

Labeling your NSFW also actually makes it easier for people intentionally searching for that kind of content to find.

I think maybe too it would help if they broadened the terms a little/allowed you to select multiple rather then just one? Idk bout anyone else but my pea brain sometimes finds it difficult to figure what would count as suggestive vs nudity/adult esp if said picture had nudity and was suggestive

I label mine and they always find some label to add that I personally did not see when labeling my stuff or it is a label I did not see when I was labeling.

I had someone argue with me about it once, claiming it was some special 3rd party feature. I suspect most of the time it's simply not being informed, with a small amount being those who intentionally don't label their stuff.

Part of the problem is the system smacks with you with a label you did not have access to in the first place so you look like you did not label it in the first place. Just happening on a video I posted.
