You learn to 'goose-step' exactly ONCE in your mil career, at BOOT CAMP.
the idea is that military skills - ie, shooting, etc - you must have the *DISCIPLINE and TEAMWORK* that it takes to march properly.
but you're done with the ACTUAL North Korea-stuff the day you graduate.

Seen a British military parade say for the Queen's birthday? Perfect marching, even the horses march perfectly lock step in time
It is far more likely that either the troops were bored, lacked discipline or wanted to silent protest
they do it on their own parade grounds for change of commands and such constantly.
2 things:
- they had no drummer or other cadence. all marching needs a 'beat', whether voice or music
They absolutely didn't care - only question is why they didn't
Leonard Wood in my BCT. WTF does D&C have to do with North Korea? But I do vaguely remember more D&C (and leading D&C) at BNCO training.
