No, eLNG is made with hydrogen from renewable sources and CO2 captured from either its own process or biogenic or other sources like the making of cement.

most cement production worldwide at the moment makes use of fossil fuels. the CO2 produced from cement therefore is of fossil origin. When used as a material with green hydrogen to make eLNG, this eLNG is tainted with fossil carbon.

you have a very good point, which is simply to roll out solutions now, and not muck around "perfecting" "the ONE". BUT: making energy transition credible means being honest about where the source of the CO2 comes from.

If not, every green tech that makes efuels will be seen as a joke.

the EU RFNBO rules mandates non-fossil CO2 sources to make eLNG after 2040. At the moment fossil derived CO2 still can be used to combine with renewable hydrogen to make eLNG.
