Trust but verify, as far as resumption of US military & intelligence aid to Ukraine is concerned.
With that caveat, a 30-day ceasefire would allow Ukrainian forces to complete withdrawal from the Kursk salient, which they are now attempting under fire. I regret this was not done last fall. 1/2
A ceasefire now would be valuable to Ukraine for this reason alone.
Russia probably erred in not trying to communicate with Trump face-to-face before now. It is hard to manipulate anyone, even Trump, at long distance. Finally, Putin’s poor judgement has cost Russia before. It may again.
And for the record, contrary to your claim, no, this "agreement" does NOT "put Putin in a corner". Putin never agreed to any of its terms (in fact he has roundly rejected similar language before) and he is under no pressure whatsoever to do so, given that HIS ARMY IS WINNING THE WAR.
These assessments on your part are "'speculative' and one step short of 'delusional'". What we have here is a nonsense, one-sided proposal "negotiated" between the U.S. and its junior partner (Ukraine) that will be rejected outright by the Krremlin.
If you are referring to me, please be aware that I am commenting on the validity (or lack thereof) (as I see them) of your observations, not on you as an individual.
For the record, I support Ukraine, but not to the point of substituting "wishful thinking" for "realistic thinking".

Russia is winning the war. That MATTERS.
