From ProPublica: Georgia fired every single person on its maternal mortality review committee. Why? They didn't like that reporters found out that the state's ban killed two women

They're killing the women; they're sacrificing the girls! In Texas too!
Why doesn't that statement get more attention than the 'eating dogs and cats' quote?
Strange.
No doubt they will put those resources into ensuring that no transwomen are using the women’s restroom. They can call it the Genitalia Restroom Review Squad.
Republicans are good at fixing numbers. Trump had the highest drone warfare drop of any president until he ordered that they stopped tracking the drops. I wonder why? Doesn’t sit well with the ‘no war’ President? 🤡
While I am outraged about the result of their ban, I would like to point out that the committee is bound to protect the privacy of the patients and their families, and leaking this information is a violation of HIPPA laws. Years ago I served on a juvenile morbidity and mortality committee.
This will spread under the trump regime. States and their governors who insist on following mortality rates or try to protect women will be severely punished. This is how authoritarianism works.
