i think everyone who plays live service games should also play non-live service games for a healthy, varied diet. it will rot ur brain otherwise and skew ur perception of game design

The amount of damage live service has done to some players. Every single game will now always be judge by them and it always "NEEDS" to be updated or it will be discarded and shamed as a "dead game" and whatnot.
right? it's insane!! i hate this behavior so much, those ppl don't see games as fun varied experiences and actual art that can be timeless, its just slop to continuously consume as fast and as much as possible. singleplayer games aren't dead, they're just finished experiences.
It sucks that it is the norm to play live service games, especially at universities. Like, no, Kevin. Just because I said I play video games doesn't mean I play League of Legends!
The common belief that an online game is dead cuz it doesnt have 40k or more players online at all times is something i feel live service games can be faulted for
Honestly i dont think anyone can play only live service game for a very long time. You're bound to get burned out from them one day since you have to constantly keep up with the grind. 🥲
that's when they either finally pick up different games to play, or they just complain abt burnout and how there's no good games anymore or whatever lol
As someone who went from no live service->only live service->mixed it really makes you see the cracks in live service BS and how addicting they make their stuff.
Will always prefer non live service as it feels like devs put their souls into them (rain world)
some are more aggresive in making u addicted and give u FOMO than others, like lets say genshin vs warframe, but even then i think it's good to just experience some self contained singleplayer games u can play thru and finish beside ur live service stuff.
