We’re about to be disappointed by lots of people who we will soon find out are more interested in proximity to power rather than doing the right thing.

I'm torn by believing that people like you are stronger in number than we imagine, and being terrified that this time they already have people in place to start doing damage day 1.
This is why I believe in prayer.
Personally I think I have a moral obligation to vote for whoever will cause the least harm (who has a chance of winning.) Then I pester them to do even less harm than that.
There's no less harmful genocide, stop. This is a rationalization of your complicity. This isn't a judgment of you as a person, I used to support the liberal bourgeoisie as well. But the sooner you realize there's no good electoral options, the sooner you can do something real. Have a good day.
There is a less harmful genocide. Killing fewer people is always preferable to killing more people. Sometimes we are forced into these choices that we DO have to make.
Dems spent over $1 Billion on a multi-front effort to get the vote out. Extended Early voting expanded the opportunity for access to the ballot for those with work/life conflicts on Election Day proper. No it wasn’t for lack of trying
Are you referring to the GOP Senators? I never in my heart and soul thought they would ever do “the right thing for middle America”. 🇺🇸 Trump is their orange 🍊 messiah and they must always bow to their dear leader dictator.
This has been going on for years. People have been propping up TRUMP for a decade. It hasn’t stopped, even under a Biden presidency. This isn’t even a sequel. It’s the same old story.
Trump goes all the way back to
the wretched, rancid gutters of
the outer boroughs NYC
That’s why nobody can understand
what he says; he speaks in the
language of the gutters.
I understand the stuff he says,
but most Americans have never
before been exposed to this
kind of filth and they don’t know.
You phrase that like we haven't been witnessing that for decades. To be disappointed is to expect a different outcome and experience says that would be a fool's endeavor
That has always been true. The ultra wealthy have been in this position before. WWI ended, we isolated, the economy collapsed, life was a shit storm, war ensued, we extorted brilliance in exchange for help, came out a global behemoth, extorted other countries for years and now....we get trump.
like, you would have really had to have missed all of american history or just been a white person who didn't care about the suffering of the others to be able to say this.
? About to be? That implies that the ruling class somehow has not always attracted hangers on and sycophants. It also implies that it isn’t common knowledge. The only surprise upcoming for anyone is how badly 45 is going to fuck everyone who voted for him, and everyone who sat out the election.
Already there, more than disappointed! "F'ing" furious! Oligarchy = corruption, neither is good thing for any country. Particularly the people who live in those countries.
Maybe we should start focusing on giving kudos to those standing up and speaking out. Praise the positive.
Those that are disappointing will have to deal with the consequences of their actions soon enough. Shame on them
Speaking of which, it looks like Kash Patel may be confirmed as FBI Director……I can’t believe this crap is happening. When did America become so spineless and corrupt?
I would just like to ask them all two fucking honest question. When did your integrity and your spirit for civil rights (Clyburn) drop off? Also, you can be populist economically AND socially for fucks sake. Why is that so fucking hard?
You're probably right but hopefully there's enough of us freedom loving patriots to quell whatever the Trumper's and his Cabinet have up there sleeves. I just hope it won't come to violence between us.
Already disappointed. They've shown themselves in their bothsides reporting, unwillingness to pushback on blatant lies. Voting conciliation when resistance is required amongst Dem leaders on the Hill. These will be the final steps in their capitulation.
The German industrialists gave power to Hitler because he wasn't a communist. It didn't take Hitler long to reverse that power dynamic and, of course, they fell in line.
So you are saying they rather have a short moment in the sun than doing the right thing? #PatheticPeople Don’t fly too close to the sun, you’ll get burned!
I keep going back to movie WICKED. Glinda stayed in proximity to power (with the Wizard) and Elphaba gave it all up to do the right thing. Great timing for the release of the movie.
Don’t you think many, if not most, believe that proximity to power is how they will be able to do “the right thing,” as they imagine “right” to be? It’s hard to imagine a worldview where banning the Polio vaccine is seems as “right,” but they have to think so, no?
I don't think it's going to be all Republicans who'll disappoint. (D) Senator John Fetterman has already kissed the ring. The other day, I saw a picture of him after meeting Elise Stefanik, both grinning with their thumbs up. 🤬 CO Gov. Jared Polis (D) has stated he's excited about working w/ RFK, Jr
This should shock absolutely no one. They have had a taste of Koch's money, now want more. It wasn't just republicans that Koch needed to make this all happen.
I still haven't heard a satisfactory explanation for Trump's appeal. His win seems to turn the moral universe on its head. Even in New Zealand there are people who admire Trump.

the same people still believe in Santa & the Easter Bunny.

Constituents are supposed to hold their elected reps accountable.
We’ve been there.
Soul Sellers to the Christofascist Oligarchy
As for us small grains of sand, we will be watching and remembering
History will paint them clearly
Then remember when Paul Ryan and his spine ran for the hills? He blamed identity politics for his resignation.
I am going to be FING PISSED OFF when they repeal it.
My disabled husband will have to go back to work IF he can even find a job!
