hmm.. considered dark cloud or dark cloud 2? theyre from the ps2, i prefer dark cloud 2 cuz it has a lot of good changes from the first plus having like, a looot of side activites
will ALWAYS recommend the Etrian Odyssey games, also started getting into the SaGa games! if you havent touched Metaphor Re:Fantazio, there's also that one, and SMT:V is also a good time. in general, there's almost definitely something between old Atlus and Square that'll get you.
Chrono Trigger, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, the Breath of Fire games, Shadow Hearts, any of the Wild Arms games if you like wild-west combined with your fantasy RPG elements, Lufia 2, not quite an RPG but Alundra+Solatorobo were also p good!
it depends on if you consider them too recent or not but they're indie titles, i like lunacid a whole lot and only played a couple hours of dread delusion so far but it seemed really cool
Super Lesbian Animal RPG! I can't recommend it enough. Pretty art, wonderful characters, and a crazy good soundtrack! It also has a relaxed mode if you're looking to take it easy
Easy: Final Fantasy 1-10 (8 is still easy once junctioning clicks for you.)
Medium: Dark Cloud 1 + 2 and Rogue Galaxy (Don't be afraid to look at a guide when putting towns back together in DC1.)
Hard: OG Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 + 2 and Unlimited SaGa
i've been having such a hard time finding newer fantasy rpgs that are any good... there's a lot if you want to go backwards, but i think the most recent one i liked okay was... granblue relink of all things
(well, actually atlyss was more recent, but it doesn't have much content yet)
I'm gonna be real fantasy life is one of my most favorite RPGs of all time, its a silly and cute little thing, though it does have a Lot of crafting and stuff. It's basically animal crossing/sims but in a fantasy setting, it's a ton of fun.
Have you considered the MMO rhythm and cookie clicker Fantasy RPG extraordinaire Old School RuneScape? (The quests are actually some of the best in any MMO but also the interface/gameplay loop isn't for everyone)
May I offer to you a JRPG called Epic Battle Fantasy 3, 4, and 5?
You can play a free demo of all of them online.
4 and 5 have a paid version on steam that offers bonus content. c:

GRANDIA.
GRANDIA.
GRANDIA.
GRANDIA.
(If you haven't played it at least.)
Ys is also a great series
Theres also the pillars of eternity series, deadfire was good and has an oldschool feel
Medium: Dark Cloud 1 + 2 and Rogue Galaxy (Don't be afraid to look at a guide when putting towns back together in DC1.)
Hard: OG Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 + 2 and Unlimited SaGa
Also DD definitely has problems.
(well, actually atlyss was more recent, but it doesn't have much content yet)
There's also Atlyss (lol), but I get the distinct impression you mean something a little weightier and more story oriented.
golden sun, legend of dragoon, star ocean 2, atelier sophie, any etrian odyssey, uh...
most final fantasies (specifically tactics since you like disgaea) or dragon quests, of course
tactics ogre is good trpg as well
