Could be done with CSS manipulation, which relies on the DOM. So in the end it will be DOM manipulation sadly. 😭

Ergo why I would consider doing it anyway for the right UX. Just because it’s cool is not the right need. Because I want to user to interact with my panel while having the ability to reference all the content on the page because it’s critical to the UI is the right need.

Exactly! I am thinking about highlighting portions of text on the page and seeing it translated on a side-by-side panel. Or a custom built co-pilot experience.
