Don’t go into massive debt. No one remembers your embossed napkins. I tell friends aa long as you feel pretty, your groom is there, and you have an open bar(lol), you’re all set. The rest is a bonus.
Parents married 50+. Had cake/punch.
To your point, I once read that the more people spend, the chances of success go down.
