The H-1B Visas Trump agrees with Musk, Americans are too stupid and uneducated to get these high paying jobs. Trump says hire more Indians for those jobs
1) republicans demonize higher education
2) corps decry "skills gap," outsource to H1bs
3) republicans demonize immigrants
4) "Wait, wut?" - corps
Sadly, the bubble's bust sorted it all out.
Came to US on H1B due to lack of skilled land surveyors.
I was payed twice + as I was paid in the far north.
I’m sure it is true in some instances, but 20 years ago the system was working fine.
I worked for a software development company for 13 years in the 90's. We were growing so fast, we needed the best skilled talent we could find. None of us were even concerned about us vs them.
It was finding the best person to fit the job.
We hired people in a field from the contract we had an interest in, Russia, India, Cambodia, etc.
We did not do that. a contract with the federal government, time constraints, and we needed to to deliver on time.
What few we had, came in to work and they worked for days, little or no sleep. We delivered on time.
The four largest employers are Amazon, Cognizant, Infosys, and Tata, which account for just over 10K employees.
Due to layoffs there are Hundreds of thousands of Americans available for the same jobs.
We can also share work by sending it overseas.
The visa makes them ties to their sponsor.
Just one example. No chance for promotion & was laid off during the visa freeze under 🍊🐷 surviving on his wife's income, also an immigrant, until Biden removed the freeze.
Servitude.
Reform without the MAGA hype will be a tricky balancing act.
your huddled masses...
Well, maybe just the educated ones.
Poors need not apply.
In 2017, then-president Trump ordered a comprehensive review of the H-1B visa program, supposedly to result in changes to ensure that the most skilled and highest-paid applicants receive H-1B visas.

Fashion models?!👇
I thought we were pro- immigrant
So it may not seem like it’s highly skilled but it is some college which too many Americans do not have
I don’t think Bernie is being completely honest

Critical thinking...try it.
I worked in R&D and we had to submit extensive proof that the overseas candidate was superior (like they had made a major scientific discovery).
Have any laws changed since then?
Companies will definitely abuse H1-B visa workers.
They already are. They underpay them massively compared to what American workers would get paid for the same job.
Companies also don't hire Americans who do apply, keeping the spot open for H1-B hires they can pay less
#NotInTheBigClub
USA CITIZENS then
NO TO THE H-1B
And if there are not,
Then IMMEDIATE EDUCATION PROGRAMS RUN BY THE GOVERNMENT AND FUNDED BY THE BUSINESSES THAT NEED THEM
We’ll steal whatever jobs we want with visas or not
This administration will make laws for thee but not for them. And it doesn’t even rhyme!
