Numbers wise no Dem is due to "win" Texas till 2028 or 2030.

But he gets more votes than any other D on the ballot and gets a down ballot effect.

Florida lost the G. race in 2022 by 20% in the red wave.

O'Rourke has built up statewide name recognition for years now...the anger will be so palpable for the midterms, if there was ever a chance for him to overcome his deficiencies and win, it would be in 2026 against Ken Paxton.

having just been there talking with people about this, I'm afraid I just don't see it. the republicans who hate paxton wouldn't cross over, the turnout is dismal, and the motivation of the asshole vote is stronger there than anywhere. that said, as long as a Castro won't do it, he might as well!

Problem is not just Senate, but Gov & AG etc. are up. (who?)

The D's don't have the luxury of risking incumbent seats.

I would hope that somebody with some name recognition & has no seat to lose would compliment for Guv. (No idea).

I hope you’re right. I see Cruz and Paxton as equals in many ways but even living here I see that even Cruz voters are grossed out by some of what Paxton represents. Hopefully Beto can run a much better campaign this time around.

The presidential campaign was garbage, but I thought his campaign against Cruz was good. As close as any dem was getting to upsetting him in 2018.
