This is too funny. Tesla is sitting on about 10,000 unsold Cybertrucks in the United States, with a retail value of about $800 million USD, because it doesn’t want to fully shut down the factory or admit the vehicle has been an abject failure.

Entirely apart from politics and fascism, the vehicle simply looks like a small, rolling dumpster.
It could be manufactured by Greta Thunberg herself, and I'd still consider its look just as fugly.
No, - no argument here that the cars are awful and combined with that, Musk even more so. i just thought it hilarious that the lack of attribution to those causes within the article seemed to say the least, a bit gentle.
Does anyone remember how bad the visuals were on that unfinished film, Foodfight? These cars look like that. They look like bad CGI with missing textures and poor rendering.
“Lot rot” is a real problem with storing cars outdoors. Stuff like cracked hoses, rotted tires, flat spots, leaks etc. will be funny to see the “defect rate” go even higher on these batches…
Listen if I was working at Tesla I too would simply continue building the terrible car rather than try to have a conversation about it with the fascist man-child.
Like anti-smoking campaigns succeeded in large part because of creating social stigma, we need to make social pariahs out of anyone driving these sh*tboxes.
Is there still a warehouse full of Delorean parts? This reminds me of that only dumber. Batteries go bad and these fall apart when someone is caring for them.
“Despite initial projections of producing 250,000 units annually, it appears Tesla might struggle to sell even 20,000 Cybertrucks per year in the current market climate.”
But I mean forget everything else..how could they not see how godawful ugly that thing is?
Add to that the high number of lightly used Cyberdumpsters on the used market. I’ve seen a bunch of used CTs for sale with very low mileage (<2000). Prices are still way too high for that piece of junk. I go with abject failure.
Didn't the DoS, just last month, award Tesla a $400 million contract for armored EV tanks. Those shitty CyberTrucks are about to metamorphose into shitty armored EV tanks.

It is a failure! It’s an ugly piece of junk to boot!

However, the actually decent (for their era) Tesla designs being overstocked can be blamed on said sideshow.
If he got some prison time, that would be icing on the cake.
