Need to try compulsory voting. Other countries do it. Why not us? If the folks who stay home would vote we would not have this issue. Close to 90million stayed home. You can not have 30% of voting populace staying home. That is a proven winner for the GOP.

1/ As an Aussie, compulsory voting is the only way. We have a Federal election on 3 May. We vote on a Sat as most ppl work M-F. Don't hv to vote in yr electorate - you cn vote absentee in another electorate on the day, do a postal vote, or you can vote any day in the fortnight prior to polling day.

3/ Every polling booth has a BBQ set up and run by a local charity where you can buy what we call a Democracy Sausage - a cooked sausage wrapped in a slice of bread. There might be a cake stall run by a charity or even live music being played by a small group.
