I had no idea either! They're convenient, have a good selection, and their warehouse is one state over from me so delivery is usually two days. I was considering making an order with them recently but lol. Looks like I won't really be buying from them anymore either.

I don't order from them terribly often and while my actual local art store is great, it sadly doesn't have the brands I like to really work with these days. So I often do have to go online. 🫠

Other place I go to typically is Jerry's Artarama, hopefully they ain't doing the same nonsense. 🥲

Unfortunately the local art stores here have more or less died and it's just Michael's and Hobby Lobby. Because of that I've mostly ordered online, often from Blick. I order from Jerry's too, and I also hope they're not doing anything sketchy.

Our local shop I think has just been the one and it's luckily hung on for quite some time now. Otherwise yeah, it's Michaels, Hobby Lobby or Craft Warehouse around here.

But yeah I tend to like more specialized stuff which a lot of times nobody around here has anyway. :/

I too am into a lot of specialized stuff, especially Japanese art supplies. Which luckily places like JetPens, St.Louis Art Supply, and to some extent Jerry's, are pretty good for.

If you're in an area like mine where most of the local art supply stores already went out of business, there are some really great indie art stores you can order from online! You just gotta dig a lil more sometimes.

That's great but it's out of date. They list my closest store as Art Materials, which went out of business last year. I bought whatever stock they had left of Windsor & Newton brushes.

There's a form at the bottom to submit shops, I'm sure if you submitted saying it's no longer open that they'd (hopefully) update it.
