Yes, that's why I've thought the folks suggesting that Trump might be tough on Putin over Ukraine are delusional. Essentially, Trump sees him as a role model.

Or worse, Trump wants to see Russia victorious. He’s 78. What’s really left here for him? I’m not sure Trump even likes America, everything he’s doing serves to cause chaos, division and cripple our government. It’s not even like he’s strengthening the country for his own power.
