Decades of this, just for the money. I wonder how long it will be tolerated, until some sort "Nuremberg's trial" is called, because there will be excuses from "I didn't pull the trigger", all the way to "I was just following orders" and everything in between.
We have allowed this. Time to eliminate the need for insurance companies and have Medicare for all. The AMA and other professional associations need to lobby for this.
Friedrich Engels called it "social murder". When the conditions imposed by society, like denying basic needs such as healthcare, lead to preventable deaths. If profit-driven systems knowingly let patients die, it’s not just negligence. It’s systemic violence with human lives as the cost.
Of course it should. AH and JS killed millions, i dont really see us excusing those guys, so why should we excuse a CEO that does more or less the same?
Wait…the hospitals are still responsible for giving every human being treatment regardless if they are insured or not. It is generally not legal to deny emergency medical treatment to someone who cannot afford it due to the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA)
Australian here..please explain. Who decides who can’t afford it? If you own a house which can be sold to cover medical expenses are you forced to sell because you can “afford” it? So you recover and live where?
yes. and it should be considered premediated, first degree since they have access to all necessary information but still try to enforce outcomes that will lead to unnecessary death
Murica is done and would benefit largely from large scale preemptive nuclear strike. Lets just hope that stupidity en masse the us way havent infected the rest of the world.
Anyone got the details on if Luigi had mental healthcare covered by UHC? Might want to forward to them that they could have prevented a CEO shooting if they did.
It's a crime against humanity, and I mean that literally. This is the definition.

While I don’t disagree that UHC is a monstrous organization and socialized health care needs to exist in the US, I searched high and low through xcancel dot com and I can’t detect that tweet anywhere. He either deleted it or it doesn’t exist… neither of which is a cute look.
It’s the executive/corporate arm of the medical industry (insurance, care and pharmaceutical) with compliance by the law/ government. I’m not sure which has to go down first. But yes, it should be considered murder, it’s a willful action that causes the death of an individual.
Actually, all the way down the chain. The employee on the phone with a hysterical relative has chosen to work for a company that instructs her to deny coverage.
The workers do not actually get to make any of the choices that lead to these outcomes. You can't fault someone for working an available job, even a shitty one, while we all live under late-stage capitalism. We *can* and *should* lay blame squarely at the feet of the people in charge.

Madness. Healthcare should never be privatized or be for profit business. Just like the police or fire department. They don't enforce laws or fight fires for profit.
