Eh, I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer here, but Social Security is in fact an “entitlement” which is defined as “the fact of having a right to something” in which you own. Language is an important part of advocacy.

Social Security isn't welfare.
As you work, both you and your employer pay taxes that fund the program.

Medicaid is for those that didn't pay into medicare during their working career.

Social Security is our collective savings account, not welfare. You & I pay into it with every paycheck our entire working lives. I also pay for Medicare. It is OUR MONEY. Did I care others were getting checks before I was old enough to collect? No. It works out. It's not welfare. It's our savings.

I damn sure am *entitled* to those benefits!!!
