In 1982 the state of Missouri did a similar thing with a woman named Nancy Cruzan. She was brain dead but she could be supported by a ventilator, IV, & enteric feeding. The State took control over her medical care for 8 years!

Nancy Cruzan was not brain dead, but in a persistent vegetative state due to brain damage. She breathed on her own. A brain dead person cannot breathe on their own.

No. Nancy was 25 & had been partying. ETOH & some pharmaceuticals when she was involved in an automobile accident. She probably had little, or no, higher brain function on arrival at the ER.

It was the "Christers," as my late father called them, who ran the "God makes miracles card" for 8 years
