I think it's also even simpler bigotry than that. They don't care if trans people win or lose. They object to our presence itself. To them, the presence of a trans woman on the podium, even below them, sullies and spoils a moment that they view as inherently belonging to them.

I've been saying it for a long time, but the gender of a person (no matter born or transitioned) doesn't matter with these types of things. It comes down to skill 100% when competing. I remember a girl from my old high-school who joined foot-ball, and she could out benchpress her male team-mates.
