I have always thought that the two characters that most embodied Terry - particularly his rage and sense of justice - are Sam Vimes and Granny Weatherwax

People like to point at The Watch (and Vimes in particular) as Pratchett's moral core of the disc, but to me it's very clearly the Tiffany books. My favorites.

Been thinking a lot about how his most dramatic characters will lie with honesty (Carrot, Granny), and his strongest will fight with weakness as a weapon.
Nanny: “This is Greebo. Between you and me, he’s a fiend from hell.”
Mrs Gogol: Well, he's a cat! Its to be expected.
I met a lady at a bus stop in an English village once, who was weeping bitterly.
I tried to comfort her but she said, “It’s no use. I’ve been like this since my cat died.”
“Oh no! When did it happen?” I said.
“Twenty-five years ago, now.”
i've honestly always thought of vimes and granny as essentially, at their core, being the same character.
