It's a wonderful concoction of high fantasy and pulp adventure and old WW2 and samurai movies and odd bits of New Age thinking. And now there's versions with spaghetti western and political thriller and stuff I'm forgetting mixed in, too.

I just wish so many people online didn't try to make it all about whatever Legends lore they latched onto. I have to resist the urge to say things like, "Sorry, I couldn't manage to sit through the Holiday Special, so I don't remember that."

It's definitely best to see Star Wars as a setting for stories, rather than a single cohesive narrative. I really loved the Visions shorts for that... just using whatever parts worked best for whatever story they wanted to tell.

I thought I did not particularly care about Star Wars (I liked some parts a lot and grew up being told the parts I liked were bad; Padmé for example) but then I found out I actually just didn't care for the Jedi, and whenever I got to see life outside them I was way more into it.

i have enough time and capacity in my life to participate in one fandom, even if only on a minor scale. It will always be, as it always has been, Star Wars.

I love even the bad stuff, simply because it's set in a world I love to see.
