yeah, I’m here too (a classic indexical!) and the bonkers amount of sensors on them is quite comforting!

plus I have yet to see one do something weird.

gonna actually install the app and give one a whirl because of @moskov.goodventures.org peer pressuring me…but I keep not thinking of it in time.

One of the funniest things I have seen so far was in West Hollywood at a red light. The Waymo was first in line and when the light turned green, the guy behind it immediately started blowing the horn. That guy, of course, was driving a Tesla.

Locals in Santa Monica have been complaining and pushing back, but the Waymo’s were driving less crazy than the human drivers, especially on Wilshire.

I think Google's autonomous driving was basically ready for prime time a decade ago but they have been inexplicably slow and cautious with it, okay, I guess?
