If Nigel Farage really thinks the Treasury spends £40bn a year on net zero and all of it can be easily axed, then bridge salesmen should urgently make their way to Clacton.

Fortunately all the head bangers that vote for Farages goons over on the east coast will be some of the first under water as it is consumed by the North Sea! They probably won't be so keen to stop the boats at that point.
I have no clue how Reform have got that number, but I imagine it involves adding up anything and everything vaguely climate-related and concluding it can all be immediately dropped.
The problem is that is likely to include things like farming subsidies and energy efficiency programmes and public transport funding and R&D initiatives, most of which are popular and would still be needed even if you ditched net zero targets.
Just as it was during the election campaign, Reforms' claims about the cost of net zero are clown car stuff. There is an argument to be had about the feasibility and effectiveness of the UK's targets, but the idea they are the root of the country's fiscal challenges is objectively absurd.
