This is really excellent news! Now I have to hope that Grand Rapids will be able to get a team since it is building a brand new downtown soccer stadium two blocks from where I work.

In a historic first, USL owners have voted to adopt promotion and relegation, sources tell @theathleticfc.bsky.social.
The vote will bring pro-rel to American soccer for the first time. Expected to start in 2028 with the launch of new USL D1 league.
