Ah, we had a plug in hybrid which ended up having a battery fault but it also impacted the brakes

Could possibly need an update? Could be a few issues, probs best to get it back into Volvo to be fair

It's gone into limp mode for some reason. Could be any number of things. Without plugging into the OBD point and checking fault codes it's hard to say. Do a visual check for anything obvious. Failing that, AA/RAC if you've got it or back to whoever serviced it. Could just be coincidence though.

AA/RAC will be able to scan the ECU and see if any faults have logged.

It came on earlier when first went out today, I pulled over turned engine off and tried again a minute or so later and nothing.
I returned home after dog walked without any problems
Just went to move it back on to the driveway and it came back up

Could be something really simple, often is if it's intermittent. Without actually being there to look and or scan it, it's difficult to say I'm afraid. Wish I could be more help. Modern cars are ridiculously sensitive. Slightest things throws them off.

It could be a multitude of reasons. Have you had a look under the bonnet to check nothing’s loose/unplugged?
The only way of knowing what’s up is to get someone/garage/dealer with a diagnostics computer to plug In and read the faults.
