The director of the Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor just posted a reel on Instagram that the Peony garden was vandalized and thousands of blooms were cut and left on the ground. He was nearly in tears sharing the news.

Far left and far right are extreme. Violence is not the answer. There were Buddhist monks that set themselves on fire to protest the Vietnam War. If one must be violent to protest, then one should kill themselves first.
I love flowers because appreciating beauty is a part of being human. When we truly love humanity, we love nature and abhor its destruction. The times, they are truly trying.
“Damaging a beloved community space intended to foster reflection and bring hope to the whole community is counter productive. We urge all community members to channel their voices through constructive and meaningful dialogue.”
Sure a great way to take me from, "hang em," to, "well, that's certainly understandable even if I'm still not w/em on specific targeting choice, and hey, who knows, maybe it makes even more sense with more information? Are there more connections?"

There’s just too much hate…please, don’t let it rob our joy. Hoping volunteers can step up to help cleanup, replace, restore, that kindness, respect and love of beautiful blooms forever remains in Ann Arbor. 💗
What a tough advocacy to try to get selfie obsessed influencers and housewives of wherever watchers to care about the natural world and to understand our place as part of the system and not rulers of the system. Nature finds a way to heal if we support her- thank you for doing the work of teaching.
Why? Just why would a n y o n e get satisfaction out of doing this?
"Oh, I hate peonies so much, and I can't stand that they are in bloom for 1-2 weeks, so I'm going to the Matthaei to kill them all ... with my brand new pruners! I am Botanical Destruction Incarnate!"
Horrible, so awful. I want to make a joke about how it must have been slugs or snails in the middle of the night, but I love peonies too much to go there. My own peonies are fighting the good fight against botrytis here in the Pacific Northwest. But I would donate mine if such a thing were possible.

This is infuriating.
I treasure them - their beauty - for however long their short lives bless me.
Why such senseless destruction?

So leftists that told people not to vote blue and helped Trump get elected are now destroying botanical gardens instead of protesting Trump.
Bunch of cowards are doing this instead of protesting trump.
