hm. Thrawn and Palpatine feel like prior generation? As in, both of those were introduced several decades back, and Palpatine's real star turn was in the Prequels.

Thrawn in the animated series is the third-best villain of the entire universe. So competent and ruthless. It was a high bar for the live action to clear and I think they did it as well
