Friends of ours from Germany, Finland and Austria who had all been in the UK many years and had jobs, friends and a life there left after the referendum because they were made to feel so unwelcome. We also moved and now live in Belgium.

My best friend gave up his British citizenship after Brexit. He'd already lived abroad for a long time, but that sealed it for him and he saw no point in retaining it when he could get citizenship of his now-home country instead. (It was an either/or.)

If you listen to Emily Maitlis’s interview with Rupert Lowe on the News Agents, you’ll be even more angry/alarmed. Nobody in the UK would have dared to spout such vile racist rhetoric on a public forum 10 years ago. But Farage, & now Starmer, have made it acceptable.

The Brexit referendum made me profoundly depressed, but even then there was some hope left. Starmer's speech has left me incandescent. I shall start wearing t-shirts with 'migrant' printed on it and see where that gets me. Labour may have a huge majority in Parliament, is finished politically.

Same. Wrote to my (Labour) MP about it yesterday. Asked him if he feels my Ukranian guest has caused harm to the country or whether my guest is exempt because he is white.
I'm not expecting a reply, but when politicians play the race card we all have a duty to call it out.
