I don’t think anyone has ever wanted to work… like ever. Exploited or not working is still a shitty experience that you just push through till you get to the weekend when you can actually enjoy life.
Truth. I have no dream job. Unless it is traveling to sit on an exotic beach sipping exotic drinks or eating exotic food. Most people aren't dreaming of working until they die.
As someone who literally started from nothing and has now built a successful business, I can tell you that this victim mentality is the only thing holding you down.
Again. Bullshit. The myth of the self-made man. Timing. Luck. Support of others and often exploitation = success to people like you. The “If I can do it anyone can” mentality is pure horse hockey. You’re not special. What you are is obsessed with making money and believe everyone should be.
Riiiight. Now you’re gonna start with the unceremonious self depreciation. Just another way of saying the entire world is lazy because any moron can get rich. That part is true. Any moron CAN get rich. Can being the operative word. There are no guarantees. Plenty will fail trying and you mock them.
The only thing that can hold you back is you. If I can do it you can do it. Feel free to send me a private message. I'm happy to share my experience and give you what information I can. I hold no bad will towards you. I want you to succeed.
Just so you have some facts, according to research done by Fidelity Investments, 88% of American millionaires are self made and came from poor or middle class homes. Other studies have shown the number to be around 79%.
Well, I'll never mock anyone who tries and fails. I've failed at a lot of things so many times I lost count. Started 3 businesses that failed and was bankrupted twice. But I never said I was a moron, and morons don't get rich.
Getting off topic here. Let me refresh your memory. Many people who have achieved a modicum of success definite it by their methods and bank account and ridicule those whose ambitions aren’t bigger than their needs. Is that clear enough? Behind every egomaniac you’ll find someone who’s been shamed.
There was no timing involved for us. We literally started our business at the height of Covid. No one supported us. My father was a welder, and I grew up in a coal mining town near Appalachia. My wife's father was a public school teacher with 8 kids.
Ok. You tell yourself whatever you need to so you can feel better about yourself. Btw, the opportunities that arose as a result of COVID are aplenty. Call your local GOP congressman for a pat on the back. You won’t get one from most people here.
I think it's interesting that you will admit that "there are exceptions" and "the opportunities that arose from Covid are aplenty." Doesn't that refute your position? Why can't YOU be the exception? Why didn't YOU take advantage of those opportunities?
If you can’t figure out what I’m saying on your own you’re either intellectually lazy or so devoted to your point of you that you are unmovable. Perhaps you’re completely unaware of what really motivates you. I tried to help you but it’s on you to ignore reality.
Given up? I’m retired. I’m content. I don’t need to chase money to the exclusion of all else to prove my worth to those of your ilk. If you wanna die at your desk, that’s your problem. The fact you’d dismiss what I’m saying out of hand without exploring it first tells me that the brainwashing took.
Well no. The self made man/woman is anything but a myth. America was built by entrepreneurs who started from nothing. Look at Abraham Lincoln. Look at Steve Jobs. There are thousands of others.
There are some notable exceptions, but it doesn’t change the fact that timing and luck were a large part of the equation. Those who think otherwise are suffering from a conservative inspired inferiority complex so they feel an incessant need to overcompensate by cultivating a large ego.
Well, I guess that's one way of looking at it. It's an odd way, but a way. It sounds like you've convinced yourself that the world has conspired against you. I'm sorry you've ended up there because it isn't true.
Okay, but what about the people who genuinely don’t have the gusto or the brains to get it done. Should they just suffer under the boot of some business owner who thinks they are a higher being simply by the nature of them owning a business?
My mother worked herself to 65. She can't even use her hands or legs. Some days, she will fall while bending over to pick something up. She worked herself in retail for so long just to not be able to use her limbs anymore for a company that doesn't even care. Please, don't work yourself to the bone.
Capitalism failed all of human kind because of human inclination to greed and what is best for the self not the whole. 🖕 Capitalism time to tax the fuck out of these people.
If a business owner has more clients than they can handle by themselves perhaps they should consider living within their means and curtail their customer base.
100%. I worked for a family-owned HVAC company the past couple years, we got bought out by a private equity firm and everyone stopped being nearly as productive, especially the top performers. Being exploited kills anyone's motivation to participate. Not that they care. Just a tax writeoff for them.
That’s not QUITE how it works or has to. Corporations today actually spend about three times your benefits and wages trying to protect your job. They didn’t in the past. Some have crappy margins they have to consider in wages. Most Corporate wealth is from stock options robbing investors.
People occupy a spectrum between those who think all work is good and those who won't lift a finger for free. When those who put in more effort than they are paid for become managers they are disappointed nobody agrees with their worldview.
Have a brother who tried to start a business but literally was exploiting the workers. He hired undocumented. After week 2 of 1/4 the pay he promised, he went to find his shop empty of all his landscaping equipment. Tried calling the cops but was told those people live under the radar. Funny shit!
One of my pet peeves. My small companies have hired a half dozen full time employees since COVID and there is absolutely no shortage of people willing to be paid a fair wage. If your company’s success requires that you underpay your workers, you and your company is part of the problem!
In Trumpville it isn’t the pay rate-it’s the lack of desire to work steadily. They show up today but not tomorrow and want $25 an hour but not the training. When Trump finishes with them we will have more homeless and hungry which fulfills his intent for malleable and vulnerable.
It does. Profit can be generated from turning the sum of labor into a more valuable whole. Paying less than the real worth is not necessary for it. This is what his statements generally miss.
If it’s a collective endeavour and profits are shared according to work done and skill then you are being paid your worth. If the profits are going elsewhere…
It is. These imbeciles collectively lack the brain power realizing the constitution is there to protect them as first middle and last. Mainly because humankind can be corrupt, whereas the document of the constitution is meant to protect its citizens.
All of that could be done more efficiently with private companies. When government operates, it has a monopoly on the Services and you are forced to buy them at the threat of jail.
When government offers services, they are always the monopoly, and those services are paid for by threat of jail. Government has no incentive to be good.
this meme is not comparing like items and is a disingenuous argument. Government bodies are elected or nominated by who was elected, they should act according to their constituents. Private companies have zero governing bodies.
How can that be? If you look at countries with public healthcare, why are the private hospitals always so much nicer and better? Why do the rich people prefer the private hospitals if they aren’t better?
If I work full time doing *anything* that should afford at minimum a place to live, food all month and clothes/gas/lights stuff we all have to have to survive.
Anybody that says any job doesn't deserve living wage, can get fucking [REDACTED] and their wealth redistributed.
Living wage is defined as less than $2 per hour in most of the developing world, 7.25 an hour in half of the United States and 15.50 in the other half. Again, wildly different scales here, but keep on talking to yourself. We're getting real far aren't we?
No amount of work is good enough. I can't do enough work to make my boss happy. Unless I demolished and rebuilt the house.I'm pretty sure i'm useless lol
Pay more you bourgeois pigs! It's called supply & demand! It's basic economics, piglets. Also everyone join one big union and go on strike until all war is over....War is over if you want it....

Oh wait....
At the wages your business offers.
He would take care of his customers and employees 😅
Mr Big Weld is so down to earth and would be a great boss to work for 😎
Who creates the value : Who banks the profit
The closer the needle comes to these being identical, the better the health of the economy
Why would anyone try to work hard when management would rather promote dead people than internal methods?
What sort of message does that send to workers?!
Ignoring this is pure theory and contradicts with the practice
There has never been, and there will never be. Even for two workers working the same machine, it never works that way.
i am comfortable paying taxes.
