Can confirm. Madrid is blacked out, people were able to leave the Subway cars and emergency generators and lighting is on.

Spain also confirms the blackout in Portugal and Andorra.

Most of it the information is coming out of Spain and France.

(I’m in touch with someone in Madrid and their cell network is also collapsed, only wired internet works).

I just took the 13:00 bus from Granada to Malaga. The power went down at the bus station about 12:30 local. But the bus left on time. Airport seems to be functioning normally apart from a glitch with card payments in the shops.

Update. Malaga itself functioning ok. But flights can’t leave because ATC is down over Milan. Limited overflight slots available. We are hoping to push back in 20 minutes - two hours late. Other flights holding for slots in five hours.
