Continually impressed by how Hilary and Chelsea Clinton co-opted a phrase that was originally directed at Elizabeth Warren and used it to sell bland children’s books

Didactic children's books that are intended to teach uplifting moral lessons are their own special kind of bland. Lewis Carroll satirised this whole tendency in the Alice books, more than 150 years ago.
And so many more. Children dont like those dog shit, political, dull colored books about "you can be anything! 😍" and "Don't let oppression stop you! 🥰"

Zero chance anyone even reads these to their kids, these exist solely as novelty items to fill up the bookshelf for the chief consultant for 14 separate failed congressional campaigns so far
I could have sworn it was Maxine Waters but no, I looked it up and hers was "Reclaiming my time". That era was so much fun and now we're going to do it all over again.
They aren’t even using it to brand some nebulously intentioned, aggrandizing PAC or advocacy group - just stealing the phrase to sell pop feminist children’s books. Really speaks to the scope of their political imagination
“Nevertheless, she persisted” was the rationale that Mitch McConnell gave for silencing Elizabeth Warren in the Senate and as soon as it was turned into a feminist rallying cry the Clintons pretended that it was about them
