Especially for recordings that aren't even manufactured anymore, the industry has NO case. I think in that case, rights should revert to the artists anyway.

Who battles the rationale of archiving, save for those who stand to profit?
This feels precursor to a lot of dark sci-fi. No imaginable good shall come from corporate control over crucial libraries, and we stand to lose another entity designed for access to shared knowledge and experience.

Pro-preservation first, artist valued more, then Moguls bottom line. We need music to survive. We cannot build a house of music by destroying too many roots and trees of past artists works. How many songs do we remember from ancient civilisations ? Music and performances lost forever.

If we preserve the music of the past eventually all music will be copyright free as all combinations of whatever minimum length will have been done and that would sap profits so of course you have to destroy anything over a profitable age old so it can be copyrighted anew and make them new money

That's quite true and of course it has been this way in the U.S. for decades now. The (sort of) defensible concept of "copyright" has, in the U.S., been weaponized by rich people and corporations, into something far more expansive than its original purpose.
