I gained program experience as a coordinator for Bridges to the Bac (Kansas+HINU). I was an IRACDA Postdoc, creating my own course at Haskell Indian Nations University (HINU). After my postdoc, I was as a MARC and IMSD coordinator at UC Berkeley. Based on these experiences,

I eventually created my own STEM training program. We are highly successful, low cost approach using the peer-reviewed best practices used in these training programs.

I later served as a reviewer for NIH MARC/URISE, IMSD, and PREP programs for 3+ years.

I am bummed for all of the caring professional scientists at NIH who administered these programs.

Lastly, many of these NIGMS programs were established by Dr. Clifton "Clif" Poodry (Seneca Nation), one of my mentors, colleagues, and heroes.

Corey, I think there are ways to do some of this work - certainly at the undergrad and maybe the grad level in the interim. (I’m optimistic that the stupidity of anti-DEI, let’s hire unqualified people instead, can’t last.) Never give up. 🦅 ♥️
