Any of my history 🗃️ friends know what the proper pronunciation of (New) Echota is? I just learned that it’s ᎢᏣᏘ (Itsati) in Cherokee, which suggests to me that the initial vowel is ‘long e’ (i.e., /i/). Is that right?
