Panic as laptop stopped working this morning. I was told the answer might have to be to wipe all the data which obviously was not an option and was quite stressful…
He fixed it. Turned out the problem was I had A HUNDRED AND SEVENTY THOUSAND ITEMS ON MY DESKTOP.
Which apparently isn’t best practice…

maybe i should uh. do something about that.
170,000 pages * 0.1 mm/page = 17,000 mm
Convert millimeters to meters:
17,000 mm / 1000 mm/meter = 17 meters
A pile of 170,000 pages of printing paper would be approximately 17 meters (or about 56 feet) tall.
🤡
If I looked at a desktop and saw 170k items on a desktop, I'd assume you were a serial killer.
My desktop was completely covered in jpeg icons.
Less than a bunch.
MAX_DESKTOP_ITEMS = 169994;
There. The laptop cannot hurt you anymore.
I'm a lifelong desktopsave degen & my max score before dumping w/o those happening is maybe 1-2k.
I can think of tons of reasons lol
but do you, put your important data in some company’s hands—just don’t be surprised that they dgaf about it.
The (very tiny) OCD part of my brain is now breathing heavily into a paper bag.
Please Marie Kondo that. For me if not for yourself! 🤣🤣🤣
