An adaptation can serve two different audiences: Fans of the source, and people unfamiliar with the source. The Halo show, in my opinion, serves neither.
It's a slap in the face to the lore and grossly misrepresents characters. It fundamentally misunderstands what people love about Halo.
On its own merits, it's just kind of a boring, messy, CW show. It sets up storylines only to abandon them, it focuses more on uninteresting drama and poorly established personal relationships rather than action and well executed worldbuilding. Its budget certainly doesn't do it any favours.
Again. I don't want to take away anyone's enjoyment of the show. But I'd much rather get a fresh take by a passionate storyteller and fan of the source material than trying to salvage the mess that is the show.

Just my two cents.
