We saw everything: measles was the first to show up. Then came diphtheria.

1/2 Thus is bad. It takes a very small decrease in vaccine coverage to trigger local epidemics (not just outbreaks) of preventable diseases. The effect will start sooner than you can imagine, grow steadily and will be very hard to get under control.
A lot of people will get sick, many will die.
