Maybe a dark ride based on H.G. Wells' The Time Machine. The scenes where you see history evolve while traveling through time could be done with projection mapping/2½-D like in Runaway Railway while the rest is 99% practical.

It’s Public Domain so the more the merrier, the two most famous adaptations now have major theme park representation with a coaster based on the musical in Germany and I feel it’s not a major spoiler to say the Lon Cheney version appears in Monsters Unchained just in time for his 100th
