I thought the rush to US universities was a consequence of OxBridge being keen to move towards allowing only 7% of their students to come from private schools?

Ah I don't know, I was just tired and thinking via my keyboard. I think my anecdote is meaningless really. Was at a school in China where the students (or parents) had basically made the choice for international education and it was typical for the Ss to favour the US.
Just found it interesting that there was a lot more variety in the choices and more students choosing non US universities. I wonder how students and families are thinking about uni now.
