Interesting article here including a test of the average response time of the Switch 2 screen. The results are awful. It's about as slow an LCD as one could imagine in the modern era.

Really seems like it. Like this really should not be costing 150 more than the original Switch.

And there's not a game I really want yet, either. Waiting on this feels like a better decision every day.

I mean this is kind of par for the course though right? The Wii came out around the 360 era and wasn't even HD, the switch was only 720p at launch. Nintendo has only ever been an old-fashioned toy company, and the name of the game there is always "the cheapest parts we can put in plastic."

The Switch was a shift away from their older stance of profiting off the hardware, but making it basically bulletproof. Which was understandable to an extent, as it was a rush job to quickly bail out from the WiiU. Switch 2 seems like they just did everything sloppy again even with 8 years lead time

the old Nintendo thing would've been to not bother with 120hz/VRR at all, and just get a decent 60hz panel in there that displays their games at 60 FPS decently enough. Instead of this thing where it has all these features but it's a smeary mess if you actually use them

Tbh it might just be the poison of modern business taking root in more obvious place. Like they have a Bluetooth chip in the Switch but it took them SIX YEARS to enable Bluetooth audio. Literally half the console lifespan. Also the Joycon drift thing was complete horseshit.

Real dogshit hardware. I know it's not the same but a series s would do you much better as an adult not interested in playing mario on the metro. Emulation beast and non annoying media player and a whole bonus reasonably powerful home console
