I really hope that at some point, the law becomes a bit more savvy about software engineering such that when the more important promises aren't followed through, there are consequences.
Just like there is for any kind of engineering that affects lives in non-trivial ways.
Then google killed reader and it's been downhill ever since because the lead poisoning started to leech out of the VC's bones and into their bloodstream.
