I should note from the very start that as far as having the console in hand, I did not buy this thing. But my brother did, so I have had a lot of opportunities to sit down with this thing and really kind of chew on it a bit

I think I’ll get a lot of the bad that I have to say out of the way first

Having said that, the console is far from perfect from what I’ve gathered about the thing. 450$ is not what ANYONE should be paying for a system of it’s caliber, I want to find it funny, but I really just can’t in good faith

Things like having a button on the consoles controller that brings you to a page to pay for their service if you aren’t paying already is just so much of a dead ringer for how hopelessly greed stricken Nintendo has become

I also take HUUUUUGE issue with the fact that for 3rd party developers, they are allowed to sell what is effectively a website on a cartridge to DOWNLOAD a game’s data as opposed to it being stored on the cart itself. I know that Sony has been riding this train for a while, but I digress

This is one of my biggest issues. It fully reinforces the phrase “you will own nothing and like it”

You don’t pay for a game anymore, you pay for the privilege to play a game unless your Wi-Fi goes out or they decide that the game needs it’s plug pulled for whatever reason

Furthermore, if you don’t have Wi-Fi at ALL, bad news! You got your switch 2 and a copy of Shadow Gens? oh fucking well! No game for you unless you can find a way to DOWNLOAD it.
