Yes, they get overtime, but the hours are still mandatory. I think they work 2.5 hours in position and 15 minutes off. Specific requirements must be met due to the Union/FAA contract, but are easily bypassed, especially with staffing issues. Hubby was a military/DOD/FAA controller for 40+ years.
