The English language has a new best-speller: Faizan Zaki. A year after finishing runner-up, the 13-year-old from Allen, Texas, won the Scripps National Spelling Bee on Thursday night with the word “eclaircissement."

I would love to see what becomes of spelling bee champions. It takes an almost disturbing amount of studying and preparation for something you’ll never do in your life again.
